Sadıka Alkan Abdullahoğlu, who is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, graduated with honors from the Department of Psychology at Doğuş University in 2012; she also graduated first in her class from the Clinical Psychology Master’s Program at the same university, specializing in Couple and Family Therapy. Following her master’s degree, she worked as a clinical psychologist for over seven years on the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Community Mental Health Project; she has also worked with adults, couples, families, children, and adolescents at various psychological counseling centers. She continues her professional practice in the fields of individual psychotherapy and couple and family therapy. In her individual psychotherapy practice, she primarily utilizes the Schema Therapy and EMDR Therapy approaches. She has completed the international Schema Therapy certification training and continues to participate in certification supervision. She has received advanced training in Schema Therapy on topics such as imagery-based rescripting and limited re-parenting, experiential work with schema modes, and working with somatization. In addition to Level 1 and 2 EMDR training, she has participated in specialized training on attachment issues in adults, anxiety disorders, borderline personality disorder, and advanced EMDR techniques; she has also received training in applying EMDR with children, adolescents, and couples. In her work with couples and families, she utilizes approaches such as Emotion-Focused Couple Therapy, Schema Couple Therapy, Gottman Couple Therapy, Satir Transformational Couple and Family Therapy, and Strategic Family Therapy. She has completed the ICEEFT-accredited Level 1 and Level 2 training in Emotion-Focused Couple Therapy; she has also received advanced training in working with attachment injuries and relationship traumas, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy, and EMDR applications with couples. She has also received training in the psychobiological approach (PACT) and psychosexual therapy in the context of couples therapy. In her psychological counseling sessions with children and adolescents, she utilizes the Experiential Play approach, Theraplay, Filial Therapy, EMDR, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. She is also an Attachment Parenting International (API) “Parenting from the Heart” trainer and a certified administrator of the WISC-IV intelligence test and the MOXO Attention Test.
