Adolescence 360° - Understanding the World of the Adolescent
Prepared for adults who want to better understand the physical, emotional, and social changes experienced during adolescence and strengthen communication with adolescents, this 4-week program addresses the multifaceted dimensions of adolescence. Throughout the program, alongside understanding the adolescent’s evolving world, everyday life topics such as school and peer relationships, family dynamics, boundaries and rules, social media, and substance use will be thoroughly explored. Sessions combine insightful information sharing with experiential activities and interactive group reflections. Knowledge and Skills Participants Will Acquire: • Better understanding physical, emotional, and social changes during adolescence • Assessing developmental characteristics and evolving needs of adolescents • Reflecting on communication styles and developing communication-enhancing approaches • Understanding challenges in school, academic achievement, motivation, and peer relations • Addressing shifting family dynamics and parent-adolescent relationships from multiple angles • Formulating approaches mindful of adolescent needs regarding boundaries and rules • Evaluating parenting practices regarding social media, curfews, and substance use • Approaching daily situations with a comprehensive, developmental perspective
